Jill and Leah travelled west to the Ouyen Club on the Calder Highway for a scrumptious Chinese dinner.
The Ouyen Club members work hard running the 6 retirement units they own in town, providing a valuable service in this small community.
Every year they assist at the Speed Field days, running a saveloy stand to feed the hungry masses. Hamburger stands at the Farmers Festival and Australia Day breakfasts also feature on the agenda, as do Citizenship awards and BBQ trailer hire.

Leah took rather a fancy to the woodworking skills of Lion Jack Puglisi.
Jack is shown here with two of the plaques he has produced for awards given by the club.
She just loves the scent of varnish!
